BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) — The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Cuba held the 7th Theoretical Seminar on Practice and Experience in Advancing Socialist Modernization through Scientific Development Planning in Beijing on Thursday.
The event was attended by Li Shulei, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Gladys Martinez Verdecia, a member of the Politburo of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee and first secretary of the party committee of the Cuban province of Artemisa, who delivered keynote speeches.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba, Li Shulei recalled, adding that top leaders of the two parties and countries exchanged congratulatory messages on this occasion and held two meetings this year, during which they exchanged in-depth views on relations between the two parties and countries.
“These contacts provided strategic guidance for further strengthening the unbreakable friendship and building an even closer China-Cuba community with a shared future,” added the head of the CPC Central Committee’s propaganda department.
As Li Shulei noted, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee developed a high-level blueprint and defined a strategic development plan for China during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). He stated that the CPC places particular emphasis on guiding socio-economic development through medium- and long-term planning, while China actively promotes the enhancement of overall national strength and improvement of people's living standards through five-year plans.
For her part, G. M. Verdecia praised the tremendous successes achieved by China in the new era under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. She expressed Cuba's readiness to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with China in the areas of party and state governance, as well as to jointly advance the construction of a Cuban-Chinese community with a shared future.
