Yerevan, December 4 (Xinhua) – Armenia is interested in deepening relations with China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a government briefing on Thursday.
Responding to a question about Armenia's possible membership in the SCO and the prospects for deepening its relations with China, N. Pashinyan noted, in particular: "China is also our very reliable and important partner in all areas. We are interested in developing relations with China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization."
Armenia announced its desire to join the SCO this summer. In August, following a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nikol Pashinyan in Tianjin, China, a joint statement was adopted establishing a strategic partnership between China and Armenia.
