BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) — Chinese State Councilor Wang Xiaohong, head of the National Anti-Narcotics Commission, called on Wednesday for improving the drug control system and vowed to win the war on drugs.
He made the statement at a national meeting on drug control work held via video link.
Wang Xiaohong called for tightening drug detection and seizure measures, intensifying the investigation and resolution of major cases, and promoting interregional and cross-border cooperation.
He pointed to the need for stricter controls on the circulation of addictive substances and precursors, and called for strict adherence to international verification and export control measures.
Wang Xiaohong also noted the importance of conducting comprehensive public education, strict and standardized law enforcement measures, and strengthening international cooperation in the fight against drugs. –0–
