Two devices of the Moscow Postamat city service have been installed in the dormitories of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (MSTU). Now students can pick up goods ordered from marketplaces, as well as fresh groceries, without waiting in line and at any convenient time.
Installing the devices directly on dormitory premises has become a unique solution for student campuses. One of the project's lockers is located in Dormitory No. 10 on Gospitalny Lane (buildings 4–6, building 1). It handles products from the city's largest marketplace partners. The second device, a specialized refrigerated locker, is located in Dormitory No. 14 on Gospitalnaya Embankment (building 4a, building 1). In addition to products from marketplaces, you can order healthy food brands with free delivery.
"We're constantly looking for solutions that make student life more convenient. For example, to reduce the time spent traveling between buildings, we made electric scooters available near campus buildings. Following the same logic, we introduced parcel lockers—a small but truly useful addition to the infrastructure. They allow students to quickly pick up their orders and avoid wasting time on everyday chores. The less students have to worry about where to pick up groceries or parcels, the more they can focus on their studies," notes Evgeny Popov, Vice Rector for Campus Policy at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Convenience and safety
One of the advantages of the parcel lockers installed in dorms is 24/7 access. Students can pick up their orders at any time, regardless of delivery schedules. Safety and contactlessness are also key features. There's no need to meet couriers to pick up your items. The locker is equipped with a CCTV camera that records the loading and pickup process. The lockers only open with a one-time code, providing additional security.
A clear advantage is the time savings: students now receive their orders quickly, without having to travel far to pickup points and wait in line. Functionality is also key: the refrigeration unit's temperature control allows for food storage in its compartments for up to four hours. To arrange delivery, select a city network device in the partner brand's app. When the order arrives, the user will receive a message confirming that the order is in the refrigeration unit. Items can be picked up using a unique code sent via SMS.
"Parcel lockers in the dorms are really convenient. Classes often go on until late, and waiting for a courier or going to a pickup point isn't always an option. But at a parcel locker, you can pick up your order on your way home or in the morning before class. First and foremost, of course, I'd like the service to be fast and reliable, with notifications arriving on time and goods delivered safely," notes Milina Khabirova, a second-year student in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technologies from Dormitory No. 14.
Over 1,500 devices have been installed in the capital. city networkParcel lockers are located in residential building entrances, at public transportation stops, libraries, and shopping and business centers. The city plans to increase the number of lockers in Moscow dormitories to provide as many students as possible with convenient contactless order pickup.
