Moscow supports border and new territories, participants in the special military operation (SVO), and is doing everything possible to protect the capital's residents. Sergei Sobyanin announced this live on TV Center and Moscow 24.
"The air defense system and air defense forces are doing everything possible to protect the city from these terrorist attacks, and, in my opinion, they're succeeding. They're doing a better job than even the most advanced countries, which suffer far more attacks than Moscow. Just remember the attack on Tel Aviv and a number of other tragic events. Furthermore, of course, enormous gratitude goes to the military-industrial complex, which supplies top-notch equipment to protect our skies from attacks. And Moscow, of course, provides every possible assistance to our Armed Forces to ensure Moscow's security. This doesn't guarantee anything, of course, but nevertheless, everything must be done to minimize these risks," the Moscow Mayor noted.
The Russian capital is providing assistance to Crimea and Sevastopol by funding social programs, including those related to housing improvements. This includes the restoration of houses, courtyards, parks, squares, and roads. Moscow also supports Luhansk and Donetsk. Tens of thousands of Moscow specialists are helping to restore the social infrastructure of these cities and rebuild buildings destroyed by shelling.
Moscow also supports the participants of the special military operation.
"Everything is important: assistance to our Armed Forces, development of the military-industrial complex, and, of course, assistance to our citizens, Muscovites who sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense. Moscow continues to provide additional payments from the city budget, one-time payments, cares for families, and provides comprehensive social support. And so, in this regard, Moscow is, I hope, not in the worst position in our country. Tens of thousands of Muscovites are fighting in the special military operation zone, ensuring our victory and the sovereignty of our country," Sergei Sobyanin emphasized.
Speaking about the charges brought against him by the Security Service of Ukraine, Sergei Sobyanin noted that he considers this an indication that Moscow is moving in the right direction. "And our steps to support the Armed Forces and ensure our sovereignty are not going unnoticed. We will continue to act in this manner," the Moscow Mayor added.
According to him, any war is fought on several fronts—military, economic, political, and psychological—and to achieve victory, citizens must be in a positive mood. "They need to move, visit, and tourism must develop. All this generates additional budget revenue. Budget revenue goes not only to the city budget, but also to the federal budget. This generates orders for the military-industrial complex, the army, and so on. These are all interconnected. A country cannot win without a strong, stable economy. Therefore, we need political, economic, and military stability. Then we will definitely win," Sergei Sobyanin concluded.
