Almaty, December 2 (Xinhua) — Seven people were killed in a traffic accident in Kazakhstan's Almaty region, the Kazinform news agency reported on Tuesday.

According to the Almaty Region Police Department, a criminal case has been opened in connection with the accident that occurred at kilometer 129 of the Almaty-Bishkek highway.

According to preliminary reports, the driver of a minivan collided with a truck trailer. As a result of the collision, all seven people in the vehicle, including the driver, were killed.
