Beijing, December 2 (Xinhua) — From the beginning of 2025 to November 30, the number of parcels handled by China's express delivery services exceeded 180 billion units. This is the first time the sector has reached this milestone, according to data released Monday by the State Post Administration of China (SPA).

With an average monthly transaction volume of over 16 billion parcels, a peak of 777 million parcels per day, and a processing speed of 6,200 parcels per second, the department said these figures demonstrate the strong vitality of China's economy.

Since the beginning of 2025, the postal and courier sectors have significantly strengthened their role in stimulating industrial development and regional economic growth, the agency's source noted. For example, the introduction of free delivery services in remote western regions has accelerated the expansion of local logistics networks, with particularly rapid growth in the courier business in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, and Xizang Autonomous Region.

The Prosecutor General's Office also drew attention to increasing investment in scientific research and technological innovation, and improving operational efficiency through the introduction of robotics and artificial intelligence. -0-
