In the current academic year, in accordance with the decision of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association for the enlarged group of specialties and areas of training "Engineering and Technology of Land Transport", SPbGASU traditionally served as the venue for the second (regional) round of the All-Russian review and competition of final qualifying works of bachelors in the direction 23.03.03 "Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes" (profile "Automobiles and automotive industry").

The jury met on November 17 and 18. On the first day, as per tradition, a remote working meeting was held with representatives of the participating universities that submitted their final theses to the competition.

The regional round featured 10 works in nine categories. The competition included:

Velikiye Luki State Agricultural Academy; Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University; Saint Petersburg Mining University; Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

A distinctive feature of the 2025 competition was its significant departure from traditional topics related to the design and modernization of production facilities for motor transport companies and service stations. In addition to engineering and design projects, the jury highly praised projects involving the use of computer technologies, data analysis methods, and the digitalization of transport operations. This confirms the broad focus of the educational program and the high level of training of graduates, who possess modern tools and in-demand competencies.

The second round featured projects by the winners of the intra-university stage of the SPbGASU competition:

"Development of a Timing Belt Test Rig Design" by Andrey Babushkin; "Development of Proposals for Organizing Electric Bus Maintenance and Repair Processes (Based on the Rzhevka Electric Bus Fleet)" by Yegor Zubarev; "Development of Methods for Analyzing the Productivity of Auto Mechanics in the Mechanical Shop of the Chery Maximum Dealership" by Sabina Bashirova.

All work was completed at the request of existing enterprises, which traditionally highlights the practical focus of SPbGASU student training and the university's close ties to industry.

The projects that took first place in the regional stage were sent to the final third round of the All-Russian competition, which was held from November 19 to 21 at the Penza State University of Architecture and Construction.

At the final stage, works from all universities participating in the second round were presented, and the projects by Andrey Babushkin and Sabina Bashirova took first place, confirming the high level of preparation of SPbGASU students.

The All-Russian Competition of Graduation Theses is a significant event for the training of automotive engineering personnel. The event promotes the exchange of experience between universities, strengthens professional ties, and creates a unified educational environment, while also showcasing best practices in training industry specialists.
