A company from the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone (SEZ) has become the first in Russia to receive a registration certificate for hemodialysis equipment. The device purifies patients' blood in cases of acute and chronic renal failure. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.

"Following Sergei Sobyanin's instructions, the city is paying special attention to developing the medical industry. Residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ regularly develop unique technologies and implement them in healthcare. For example, one company recently created a blood purification device. The planned production capacity is between 500 and 1,000 such systems per year," noted Maxim Liksutov.

The project also includes the launch of consumables production. The company has created cartridges containing a specially prepared dry mixture and disposable dialyzer filters. Production is planned for four to eight million units of these auxiliary medical devices per year.

Hemodialysis is performed on patients with acute or chronic renal failure, as well as in cases of severe poisoning, electrolyte imbalance and some other diseases.

By 2030, the SEZ is planned to be significantly expanded to 600 hectares and 5.6 million square meters of production infrastructure.
