Bashneft (part of Rosneft Oil Company) opened a new laboratory in the Department of Geophysical Research Methods of the Mining and Petroleum Faculty of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU). During the event, an agreement was also signed to establish a joint department, "Bashneft-Geophysics," which will train geologists, petrophysicists, and other specialists for Bashneft-PETROTEST.
Future geophysical engineers are trained in the department to analyze and interpret well logging data and master the skills of using specialized equipment. The new laboratory is equipped to provide practical training in all areas of production borehole geophysics.
The laboratory is equipped with fully Russian-made equipment, data recording systems, and borehole geophysical instruments. This equipment includes the software-controlled geophysical information system for logging data, "Logging Laboratory GIK." This system records, displays, and stores logging results in real time. The laboratory is also equipped with recorders that digitize signals from downhole and surface equipment during logging. The recorder was developed by a Ufa company using new components that reflect the latest advances in electronics. It is based on a modern multi-core microprocessor, which significantly increases computing power and achieves a qualitatively new level of signal processing, guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of the data obtained.
Rosneft and USPTU have been developing cooperation in the training of qualified personnel, research, and innovation for a quarter of a century. The university is one of Russia's leading technical universities and holds the status of a regional flagship university.
With the Company's support, the Rosneft-USPTU Scientific and Educational Center was established at the University's Faculty of Mining and Petroleum. The university comprises 11 core and graduate departments, implementing educational programs for Rosneft subsidiaries.
