BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) — The 2025 China-Russia Sports Forum and the 2025 annual meeting of the China-Russia Sports Universities Association were held at the Capital Sports Institute in Beijing on Saturday.
The event was aimed at deepening practical cooperation between association members in the fields of physical education, specialist training, and academic exchanges, according to Chinese media reports. More than 100 representatives from Chinese and Russian universities participated.
Zhang Xia, the rotating chair of the Chinese-Russian Association of Sports Universities and director of the Capital Sports Institute, noted that the forum is dedicated to a new path of integrating physical education and the humanities, as well as deepening multifaceted practical cooperation between universities in the two countries.
The association's secretariat will continue to provide support and coordination services to transform the association into a high-quality platform for Chinese-Russian cooperation in education and sports, she added.
By vote, seven universities, including Chongqing University and Shaanxi Normal University, officially joined the association, increasing the number of its Chinese member institutions from 33 to 40.
The event was jointly organized by the Chinese-Russian Association of Sports Universities and the Capital Sports Institute. It also included the opening ceremony of the Chinese-Russian youth cultural exchange camp in hockey.
