SAN FRANCISCO, November 30 (Xinhua) — At least four people were killed and 10 others were wounded in a shooting on Saturday evening during a family party in the northern California city of Stockton, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. PT/2 a.m. GMT Sunday, and the victims included both teenagers and adults, San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Heather Brent said at a briefing.

The suspect remains at large and no arrests have been made, she said.

“Early indications indicate this may be a targeted incident, and investigators are exploring all possibilities,” the office said in a Facebook post.

Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee said a "mass shooting" occurred at a child's birthday party at a cafe.

Authorities have not yet released details about the suspect or a possible motive, and the circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear. California Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed on the incident.
