Islamabad, November 28 (Xinhua) — Security forces killed 22 terrorists in an intelligence-driven operation in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the country's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The operation began on Wednesday in the Dera Ismail Khan district, the military said. Security forces attacked a militant hideout, and the terrorists were killed following an intense firefight, the statement said.

A search operation is currently underway, the ISPR said, adding that counter-terrorism efforts will continue to ensure lasting peace.
