St. Petersburg, November 28 (Xinhua) — In the first nine months of 2025, Russia's recoverable oil and condensate reserves increased by 80.5 million tons, TASS reported on Friday, citing the Russian Federal Agency for Subsoil Use (Rosnedra).
Meanwhile, natural gas reserves increased by 450 billion cubic meters. Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov stated at the Eastern Economic Forum in September that by 2025, through geological exploration, Russia will fully replace the oil and gas reserves it plans to produce within a year. The main increase in proven reserves is expected in the second half of the year as seasonal work is completed and reporting is completed.
Earlier in November, Pavel Melnikov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Petroleum Institute, announced that more than 26 new hydrocarbon fields would be discovered in Russia by 2025.
According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, oil production in 2025 is expected to reach 510 million tons. –0–
