"More than 60 events are planned to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding writer and journalist Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov. These include celebratory events, exhibitions, scientific and cultural educational activities, presentations of literary projects, the creation of audio and video products, and the implementation of international projects. Particular attention will be paid to the preservation of cultural heritage sites associated with the life and work of the writer," said Tatyana Golikova.

She noted that Mikhail Sholokhov's anniversary is an opportunity for his admirers and the entire country to reflect on how he created his timeless works, to remember the heroes of his books, their vibrant personalities, and the dramatic events they experienced. "One of the largest projects will be the exhibition 'Sholokhov: 100 Years in World Culture.'" In addition to the M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve "Quiet Flows the Don," the State Historical Museum, the Russian Museum, ROSIZO, and the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences will participate in its organization," the Deputy Prime Minister announced.

Tatyana Golikova emphasized that the bulk of the celebration's events are planned for 2030, but active preparations are already underway, including the start of restoration work on cultural heritage sites in 2026.

In the anniversary year of 2030, federal libraries will host book exhibitions and cultural and educational events. The Gorky Literary Institute will organize a writers' roundtable discussion, "Mikhail Sholokhov and the Literatures of the Peoples of Russia," a competition of artistic miniatures, and will prepare a collective monograph, "Mikhail Sholokhov: Research and Articles." The Illusion Cinema will host thematic screenings of films related to the work of Mikhail Sholokhov.

The South-Russian State Polytechnic University named after M.I. Platov, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science, will host youth patriotic events: the ninth meeting of the Association of Cossack Universities of Russia, "Cossack Stanitsa – 2030," and the All-Russian Youth Festival of Cossack Culture, "On the Quiet Don."

The Ministry of Defense is planning events such as the premiere of the play "They Fought for Their Country" and the "Sholokhov Evenings" theater festival at the Russian Army Theater. The podcast "Medicine in the Works of M.A. Sholokhov" is being created and published as part of the Military Medical Museum's "Medicine in Literature" project.
