As part of improvement work in the Tagansky District, specialists installed additional pedestrian crossings and four modern tram platforms. The Traffic Management Center (TMC) developed the designs for the new road facilities.

"Road safety is our top priority in accordance with the transport development strategy through 2030, approved by Sergei Sobyanin. We continue to make the city more comfortable for all road users. For example, under the TsODD transport plan, as part of the improvements on Abelmanovskaya Street and 3rd Krutitsky Lane, we've added 18 new pedestrian crossings and four new tram platforms," said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

Maxim Liksutov.

Four island tram platforms have been installed on Abelmanovskaya Street. Passengers now exit the tram directly onto the platform, from where they can safely cross the street using a pedestrian crossing. The crossing is level with the tram floor and creates no obstacles for passengers with limited mobility, parents with strollers, and senior citizens.

Eighteen new pedestrian crossings have made it easier to reach public amenities, shops, and attractions. For example, on Abelmanovskaya Street, shortcuts have been added to the Proletarskaya and Krestyanskaya Zastava metro stations, Krestyansky Square and Tagansky Park, the Pokrovsky Monastery and the Resurrection Cathedral, the second building of School No. 498, and Central Children's Library No. 14. Thanks to the crossings on 3rd Krutitsky Lane, pedestrians will be able to more quickly reach the Proletarskaya metro station, the Novospassky Monastery and pond, the Church of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, and the house of the merchant Vinogradov.

Additionally, the route to the Novospassky Pier has been shortened by 100 meters thanks to a new crossing on Novospassky Proyezd. Residents and visitors to the capital no longer need to ascend and descend the stairs of the underground crossing. Another crossing, installed on Abelmanovskaya Street opposite 2nd Dinamovsky Lane, shortens the route from 2nd Krutitsky Lane to the Proletarskaya Metro stop by 120 meters.

All changes help reduce accidents and make city streets more comfortable for pedestrians.
