Service infrastructure for motorists continues to develop on Russia's highways. Systematic work is underway to create a network of modern multifunctional zones (MFZs). A new, comfortable MFZ has opened at the 77th km of the outer edge of the Central Ring Road (TsKAD), as announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
"We are consistently improving the country's road and transport infrastructure. This improves connections between cities and regions, opening up new logistics routes, which directly impacts the quality of life for Russians and the country's economy. We are also paying special attention to developing roadside services. Modern multifunctional zones are now appearing along highways, providing a place to recharge during short and long-distance journeys. One such zone has opened at the 77th kilometer of the outer edge of the Central Ring Road (TsKAD) between the Yaroslavl Highway and the M-12 Vostok Highway. The new facility is equipped with everything necessary for drivers and passengers, including families with children. The multifunctional zone includes a modern gas station covering over 31,000 square meters, as well as parking spaces and lots," said Marat Khusnullin.
According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state-owned company Avtodor, the decision to create the multifunctional zone was made to provide a high level of service to motorists and improve road safety, as driver fatigue is a key factor in the risk of road accidents.
"The new multifunctional zone (MFZ) is fully equipped for drivers of trucks, cars, and passengers. It's also perfect for traveling with small children: the building has a baby-changing station. Additionally, there are outdoor playgrounds for children and sports activities. It's important to note that the traffic flow for trucks and cars is separated, and separate pedestrian routes are created. We plan to further develop the MFZ area. A single service building will be built, along with other popular facilities," explained Vyacheslav Petushenko.
