In Samara, excavation of a connecting tunnel has been completed as part of the construction of the new Teatralnaya metro station. The work was completed ahead of schedule, according to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"The metro is the most reliable and fastest form of urban public transport, and one of the most effective tools for combating traffic congestion. Thanks to the infrastructure budget loan mechanism, which has become an effective stimulus for regional development, we are building new lines and stations in Samara, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Nizhny Novgorod. Metro construction is also underway in St. Petersburg and Kazan. Moscow remains the flagship. The capital's experience, its best practices, and metro construction technologies are being actively adopted by the regions. Thus, the rapid pace of work at the Teatralnaya station in Samara allowed for the completion of the connecting tunnel ahead of schedule. The initial schedule was set for completion by the end of the year. Teatralnaya will be the final station of the city's first metro line. Once opened, it will connect Samara's city center with outlying districts, and the travel time from the initial to the final metro station will be less than 30 minutes. The arrival of the metro in Samara is truly a historic event. It is now crucial to maintain the momentum to complete this important project on schedule," said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin for their support of Russia's construction projects. The Deputy Prime Minister also thanked everyone involved in the Samara metro construction project.

"Today's event is the result of the colossal work of hundreds of people: engineers, designers, and metro builders. Colleagues, you have once again proven your professionalism and ability to perform high-quality work," emphasized Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the positive dynamics in the development of transport infrastructure and housing construction in the Samara Region. Over the first 10 months of this year, 51.7% of regional roads were in good condition. The number of road fatalities has decreased by 4.3% compared to the same period last year. Systematic efforts to develop the road network are also contributing to active housing construction: 1.3 million square meters of housing were commissioned in the first 10 months.

"Today marks a significant event in the life of Samara: the completion of the tunnel at the Teatralnaya metro station. This is an important and long-awaited project for our residents. Work continues. The station will be completed and opened on schedule. I am grateful to the Russian Government, Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin, and the Moscow City Hall for their support. Of course, a huge thank you to all the construction workers for their hard work," said Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.

Completion of construction of the Teatralnaya metro station is scheduled for 2027.

The Ministry of Construction is the curator of the infrastructure loan program, and the public-law company "Territorial Development Fund" is responsible for project implementation.
