URUMQI, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) — A total of 341,000 vehicles were exported through the Horgos border crossing in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the first 10 months of this year, up 3.2 percent from the same period last year, Horgos Customs reported.

In particular, 141,000 electric vehicles were exported from China through the Khorgos checkpoint, a 44.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. NEVs are widely popular in Central Asia and Russia.

Since the beginning of this year, vehicle exports through the Khorgos border crossing have continued to grow. Every day, over 600 vehicles are shipped to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

“This year, our company has already exported more than 9,200 vehicles through the Khorgos checkpoint, worth a total of 2.2 billion yuan,” said Liang Hao, CEO of Khorgos Haocheng International Freight Forwarding Company.

Due to the increasing demand for automobile exports, Khorgos Customs is constantly optimizing the cargo customs clearance system and providing highly efficient customs clearance for Chinese-made vehicles. -0-
