Moscow, November 27 /Xinhua/ — The second prototype of the Russian-made MS-21 medium-haul aircraft, featuring domestically produced components, has begun flights under the certification test program, the Rostec Corporation press service reported on Thursday.
During the first flight of the program, the stability and controllability of the airliner were tested.
The MS-21 underwent a major replacement of imported components and systems with Russian ones. These included replacement of the cockpit controls, avionics suite, air conditioning system, wheel braking system, fuel system, and tires.
The MS-21 is a new generation medium-haul passenger aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. –0–
