Paris, November 26 (Xinhua) — France and the United Kingdom will create a working group to develop security guarantees for Ukraine, with the participation of the United States. French President Emmanuel Macron announced this on Tuesday.
He made the announcement following a video conference with representatives from around 30 countries of the "Coalition of the Willing," joined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
E. Macron said that the coming days will be used to determine the contribution of the parties willing to provide guarantees after a ceasefire is reached.
According to the president, France and other members of the European Union are also working on a plan to provide financial support to Ukraine.
Earlier on Tuesday, Emmanuel Macron stated on RTL television that France, along with the UK and Turkey, could consider sending troops to Ukraine as part of a post-ceasefire reassurance force. He also emphasized that Ukraine's "primary security guarantee" remains its own army.
