Anyone can become a wizard

Muscovites can join the "Kind Christmas Tree for Paws" campaign at the "Kind Place. South Administrative District" volunteer center, located at 9 Trofimova Street. It is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday. At the New Year's tree, visitors can examine the individual profiles of the Biryulevo shelter's pets. These profiles feature photographs of the cats and dogs participating in the campaign, their names, and gift wishes.

Muscovites can donate food, including dietary and allergy-friendly options, as well as their favorite treats, such as lamb trachea or dried lungs, to the shelter's residents. For comfortable walks, the animals need leashes, collars, and harnesses, and beds for quality rest and sleep. All items must be new and within their expiration dates.

Among the pets, for example, is the cat Chicolette, whose ear tufts make her resemble a lynx. She doesn't like to get sick and requires medication. Seven-year-old dog Gorynych lost a paw as a puppy, but remains active and cheerful, dreaming of wet food. Tanya, the cat, recently moved to a new enclosure and will be delighted with a cozy home with a scratching post.

Each card contains a QR code with detailed information about the animal and the phone number of its caregiver. Participants can contact them and visit the animals at the shelter, take them for walks, and play. The best gift for any animal is finding a home and loving owners.

After the event, volunteers from the "Good Place. South Administrative District" center will sort the gifts, pack them into boxes, and deliver them to the shelter in time for the New Year.

Marianna Zhuravleva, an experienced animal volunteer in the Southern Administrative District, has been helping animals for about four years, participating in events and activities at the "Kind Place. Southern Administrative District" volunteer center. She collects food, toys, and medicine for the residents of the Biryulevo shelter. Together with her parents, she visits dogs at the Krasnaya Pine shelter at VDNKh. Together with a friend, whom Marianna calls her main supporter, she cares for stray cats in city shelters. She also joins aid campaigns at School No. 1636, where she studies.

"This is my third year participating in the 'Kind Christmas Tree for Paws' project. It's an incredibly touching and kind initiative! Last year, I took several donations from the tree. For example, I brought cheese sticks and a whole set of rubber toys for Barney, and I gave Musa, a beautiful black-and-white cat, an igloo house and a treat," Marianna shared.

She says volunteering has taught her boundless gratitude, and helping animals has become her favorite cause. Marianna has a pet named Ugol, who was abandoned by two owners. She adopted him from a shelter before the New Year, and now she gives him warmth, comfort, and kindness.
