Almaty, November 26 (Xinhua) — Truck drivers illegally transporting approximately 60 tons of petroleum products were detained in two regions of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs' news portal reported on Wednesday.
During the searches, approximately 400 tons of petroleum products were seized, as well as firearms, gas weapons, and financial and business documentation confirming illegal transactions.
"As part of a separate criminal case, the activities of a company involved in a channel for smuggling petroleum products abroad are being investigated. According to preliminary data, the company exported over 30,000 tons of fuel worth approximately 8 billion tenge (approximately $15.43 million)," the Ministry of Internal Affairs website reported.
