Almaty, November 25 /Xinhua/ — A serious traffic accident occurred on the 65th kilometer of the Almaty-Bishkek highway on Monday, the Kazinform news agency reported on Tuesday.

According to the agency, footage from the scene of the tragedy has surfaced on social media. It is reported that the accident occurred near the village of Kainazar in the Almaty region.

According to preliminary information, the 23-year-old driver of the Audi lost control and collided with a Toyota.

"As a result of the accident, both drivers and three passengers died at the scene from their injuries. Another passenger was taken to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he died there. Additionally, five passengers sustained various injuries and are under medical observation," the regional police department's press service noted.
