Geneva, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) — U.S. and Ukrainian officials said Sunday that "progress" had been made at their talks in Geneva on a 28-point plan to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but details had not been agreed upon as differences needed to be narrowed.

Following a meeting between the Ukrainian delegation and national security advisers from the UK, France, and Germany, the Ukrainian side held bilateral talks with US representatives later that day.

In the evening, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the head of the Ukrainian President's office, Andriy Yermak, held a briefing and made separate statements.

M. Rubio called the negotiations "the most productive and meaningful" since the process began, noting that the delegations addressed key issues one by one and made "significant progress." He said the teams are now reviewing the proposals made during the meeting and working to resolve some remaining differences.

He added that both the American and Ukrainian sides were approaching the text of an agreement they could agree on, although the final result would still require the approval of the two presidents.

A. Yermak described the conversation with the US delegation as "extremely productive," confirming that "very good progress" had been made toward achieving a "just and lasting peace." He said both sides would continue working on proposals in the coming days and would also engage European partners as the process progressed.

Both sides declined to answer questions from reporters, explaining that their teams are still working on updates and preparations on a number of issues.

They were expected to return later in the evening to provide further information. –0–
