BEIJING, November 24 (Xinhua) — On November 22, at 8:05 a.m., flight CZ8007, carrying 34 passengers, departed Tianshan International Airport in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bound for Osh, the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, marking the official opening of the regular Urumqi-Osh international passenger air route, according to a report on the China Media Group news app.

Currently, this is the only direct air route from China to Osh, and the second international passenger air route to Kyrgyzstan launched by Tianshan Airport after the route to Bishkek.

It is reported that round-trip flights are planned on the Urumqi-Osh route every Saturday, with the flight duration being approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

According to statistics from the Urumqi Entry and Exit Border Control Point, as of November 22, Tianshan Airport has handled a total of over 60,000 passengers traveling between China and Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2025, an increase of 55.4 percent year-on-year.
