Beijing, November 24 (Xinhua) — China's wisdom will inspire the prospects for global sustainable development, according to a recently published think tank report titled "Toward Green Modernization Hand in Hand: Theoretical Contribution and Practical Leadership of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization in Global Sustainable Development."
Noting the contribution of China's experience to global sustainable development, the authors of the report emphasized that China, through state will, has promoted the integration of the concept of ecological civilization into the country's macro-strategies for economic and social development, and has also strengthened the institutional basis and guarantees for sustainable development through reform of the governance system.
China has also strengthened its domestic momentum for sustainable development through scientific and technological innovation and consolidated global efforts in the field of sustainable development, always taking into account the interests of the entire world, according to the aforementioned report prepared by the National High-Level Think Tank of the Xinhua News Agency and the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.
China has put forward its initiatives to build a clean, beautiful and sustainable world, including supporting sovereign equality and expanding the representation and voice of developing countries.
According to the report, these initiatives also include the implementation of a human-centred approach and addressing the needs of people in different countries for improved environmental well-being, respect for the rule of international law and support for multilateralism based on the principles of joint consultation, joint construction and sharing, as well as a focus on actions to turn ambitious goals into effective achievements.
"Faced with the challenges of the global environmental crisis, no country can look out for itself alone. Only by breaking down barriers, opening doors to cooperation, and working together can we collectively protect humanity's beautiful home," the report states.
