BEIJING, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) — Responding to a reporter's question on Monday about Japan's plan to deploy offensive weapons near China's Taiwan region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said the move was extremely dangerous and called on neighboring countries and the international community to remain on high alert.
Mao Ning made the statement at a daily press briefing, noting that Japan's actions are deliberately escalating tensions in the region and provoking a military confrontation.
Considering Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous statements about Taiwan, this is an extremely dangerous step that requires increased vigilance from neighboring countries and the international community, she noted.
