Beijing, November 24 (Xinhua) — China will begin building national demonstration bases for developing emerging industries, with plans to establish approximately 100 industrial park-type demonstration bases and 1,000 enterprise-type demonstration bases by 2035. This was announced in a circular published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
According to the document, the creation of such bases will be aligned with national development strategies for the period up to 2035 and the 15th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030). The focus will be on key emerging sectors such as next-generation information technology, new energy sources, new materials, biology, high-tech equipment, intelligently connected vehicles powered by new energy sources, green industries and environmental protection, low-altitude equipment, aviation, and astronautics.
Demonstration bases in the form of industrial parks will facilitate cluster-based, large-scale, and high-tech development of leading industries, enhance capabilities for providing key universal technologies, raise the level of transformation and industrial application of scientific and technological achievements, and enable the search for management methods suitable for emerging industries.
According to the ministry, enterprise-type demonstration bases will focus on strengthening product development, addressing challenges related to key and core technologies, and achieving breakthroughs in important innovative technologies. They will also develop new forms and models of business activity and facilitate the renewal of application scenarios.
