Beijing, November 23 (Xinhua) — The 4th China Space Science Conference opened in Beijing on Saturday. More than 1,000 Chinese experts and scientists gathered to discuss recent progress, major achievements, and emerging trends in space science.

The four-day conference consists of an opening ceremony, 14 keynote speeches, a roundtable discussion on international cooperation, an international symposium, and approximately 50 specialized academic sessions.

Fourteen invited academicians and senior experts will provide up-to-date information on China's human space program, lunar and deep space exploration projects, scientific space satellite missions, and future development plans.

The conference's highlight was a roundtable discussion on international cooperation in space science. Participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation for the development of space science. They noted China's achievements in many areas and called for expanded global collaboration to maximize scientific achievements and contribute to the advancement of human knowledge.

The International Symposium on Space Science is dedicated to the topic "Space Observations of Earth and the Physics of Disaster Precursors." Dozens of scientists and experts from the United States, Russia, Poland, Chile, Peru, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and China will discuss current issues and explore early warning approaches for global and regional disasters.

The conference will also feature approximately 50 thematic sessions covering a wide range of fields, including space physics, space exploration, space remote sensing, space optics, lunar and planetary science, space materials, space life sciences, microgravity, and space-based gravitational wave detection. These sessions will foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration between technological innovation and industrial applications.

Additional events will also include youth academic salons, exhibitions dedicated to aerospace technologies and achievements, and public scientific lectures.
