QINGDAO, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) — The China-SCO Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "China-SCO Demonstration Zone") in the east Chinese coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong Province, hosted the Final Round of the Specialized Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth within the framework of the China-Russia Industrial Innovation Competition (2025), attended by nearly 3,000 youth and teenagers from China and Russia.
As part of the competition, which began in April 2025, qualifying rounds were held in many regions and cities across China and Russia, with over 20,000 people submitting applications.
Participants competed in a variety of cutting-edge fields, including robotics, artificial intelligence, creative programming, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The winners of the finals will have the opportunity to visit Russia to participate in the 2026 China-Russia Joint Invitational Competition.
According to Olga Dolgikh, Director of the Center for International Education and Professional Training at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution "Institute for the Development of Professional Education," holding such scientific and technical events provided a valuable platform for the exchange of experience between educators from China and Russia and effectively facilitated mutual learning between China and Russia in the fields of science and education.
The China-SCO Demonstration Zone attaches great importance to leveraging the guiding role of scientific and technological innovation, actively develops growth points for cooperation in the scientific and technological field, accelerates the pace of cooperation between China and the SCO countries, and promotes the transfer and commercialization of more scientific and technological achievements. -0-
