YANGON, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) — Myanmar's National Defense and Security Council Information Team chief Zaw Min Tun on Friday responded to media questions regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's recent inaccurate remarks about Taiwan.

Zaw Min Tun said the Myanmar government had taken note of the Japanese Prime Minister's relevant comments and outlined his position.

First, the Myanmar government adheres to the one-China policy. Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has repeatedly reiterated this position during meetings with Chinese leaders.

Secondly, China and Myanmar are friendly neighbors. They are working to establish a comprehensive partnership of strategic coordination and are committed to building a community of shared destiny. The Myanmar government attaches great importance to and values this relationship.

Third, Myanmar has always adhered to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, respects China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will continue to support China's efforts to safeguard national unity.
