On November 20, the State University of Management's Higher School of Business and Technology participated in the second National Forum on Continuing Education, "People and Competencies of the New Era," held at the Higher School of Economics.
The discussions focused on a human-centered approach, government strategies for continuing education, and the role of artificial intelligence. Forum participants identified new vectors for educational development in the era of technological change, agreeing that the traditional business education model is no longer adequate.
At the plenary session, "Humanity Under Pressure from Technology: How Workers Can Survive in the Labor Market," the idea was voiced that the only sustainable strategy is continuous learning with an emphasis on soft skills that are currently inaccessible to artificial intelligence: critical thinking, leadership, and project management.
Maria Lazareva, Deputy Director of the Higher School of Business and Technology, represented the State University of Management at the forum and spoke at a specialized panel. The expert noted that business schools play a key role in building competencies for the economy of the future:
"Their new role is not to be knowledge providers, but integrators and designers of educational pathways. We act as a bridge between rapidly evolving business demands and individual specialists who want to remain in demand."
Dmitry Bryukhanov, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management, previously stated that training managers today requires a fundamentally different approach:
"At the State University of Management's Higher School of Business and Technology, we are revising our programs, making them flexible and personalized. We are introducing modules on artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and managing under uncertainty. Our goal is to graduate leaders who not only adapt to change, but also utilize new technologies as a tool for value creation and are capable of leading teams in a constantly changing world."
This position confirms a general trend: business education leaders are taking on the responsibility of developing a new generation of managers capable of working effectively in the economy of the future, where technology creates challenges but also opens up new opportunities.
