Yerevan, November 21 /Xinhua/ — The Yerevan Municipality has completed the purchase of 45 Chinese-made trolleybuses, which will be delivered in the first half of 2026. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced this on Friday.

According to him, the advance payment for the 12-meter trolleybuses, which can accommodate 85 passengers, has already been transferred.

This deal is expected to completely renew Yerevan's trolleybus fleet, replacing the last 30 aging vehicles, which have been in service for nearly 20 years. Currently, Yerevan operates 15 Chinese-made Yutong and 15 Zhongtong trolleybuses. With the purchase of the new vehicles, a total of 75 modern trolleybuses will be operating on Yerevan's streets.
