BEIJING, November 21 (Xinhua) — Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) saw its foreign trade turnover increase 15.5 percent year-on-year to 418.63 billion yuan (approximately $59 billion) in January-October 2025, 11.9 percentage points higher than the national average, the Xinjiang Daily reported on Friday, citing local customs data.
In October, Xinjiang's import volume reached a monthly high of 5.93 billion yuan this year, up 19.5 percent year-on-year and 21.9 percent month-on-month.
In the first 10 months, Xinjiang's trade turnover with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative increased by 9.2 percent year-on-year to 365.64 billion yuan, or 87.3 percent of Xinjiang's total foreign trade turnover.
In January-October, Xinjiang's import and export volume in regular trade increased by 66.6 percent compared with the same period last year, and its share in the region's total trade reached 49.9 percent.
In the first 10 months, the foreign trade turnover of non-state-owned enterprises in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region amounted to 389.49 billion yuan, an increase of 16.4 percent year-on-year, accounting for 93 percent of the total import and export volume of the entire region. -0-
