On November 20, representatives of the State University of Management participated in the 1st All-Russian Forum "Personnel for Space," held at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

The forum became a key event within the federal project of the same name and a launching pad for the development of a national system for training highly qualified specialists in the space industry.

Our university's Vice-Rector, Maria Karelina, and the Head of the Modern Training Laboratory for the Aircraft, Shipbuilding, and Innovative Transport Industries, Dmitry Nikitin, participated in the event. The laboratory focuses on automated control program development and the fundamentals of CNC operation for various machine tool technologies.

At the official opening of the forum and the federal project "Personnel for Space," participants were welcomed by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and project director.

"The 'Personnel for Space' project is being launched as part of the 'Space' national project, which will begin on January 1, 2026. However, we are already working within the key paradigms, goals, and initiatives that will be launched. The preparatory phase officially begins on July 1, 2025. This is an unusual situation, which underscores the fact that personnel have undoubtedly always been an important and significant element in everything," noted Olga Petrova.

The program continued with a panel discussion, "Image of the Future: What Will Russian Space Be Like by 2036?" During the panel discussion, speakers discussed the industry's needs over the next 10 years, the combined efforts of schools, universities, businesses, and science, and key areas of Russia's space ecosystem. Mikhail Pogosyan, Rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), presented a report, "Personnel for Space. Tools for Program Implementation," in which he demonstrated MAI's target model for training qualified personnel for space industry enterprises. The speaker placed particular emphasis on upgrading the skills of current industry employees in the context of the implementation of new digital technologies and artificial intelligence tools.

The forum also included a strategic session with rectors and representatives of the project's partner universities. The session was moderated by Alexander Vedekhin, Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and Administrator of the federal project "Personnel for Space," and Anton Alekseev, CEO of JSC "New Space" Aerospace Corporation. Participants discussed the formats for university participation in the project and the requirements for successful selection, the scope of federal project activities through 2036, and support mechanisms for teachers, engineers, and researchers.

The forum brought together over 400 representatives from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Russian Ministry of Education, the Roscosmos State Corporation, universities, enterprises, research organizations, and young engineers to create a direct link between education and the needs of the space industry and to unite to address a strategic objective: building a comprehensive system for training a new generation of professionals capable of implementing Russia's ambitious space projects.
