NANJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Belt and Road International Think Tank Cooperation Forum opened in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on Friday.

Fu Hua, Director-General of the Xinhua News Agency and Chairman of the International Committee for Belt and Road Think Tank Cooperation, spoke at the event. He noted that Xinhua, as the leading initiator of the International Committee for Belt and Road Think Tank Cooperation, will work with media outlets and think tanks from all countries to produce higher-quality news coverage and analytical research, and jointly build a higher-level multilateral exchange platform.

The forum, organized by Xinhua, was attended by over 300 guests from more than 30 countries, including diplomats, experts and journalists.

In addition, a meeting of the International Committee for Cooperation between Think Tanks on the Belt and Road Initiative 2025 was also held in Nanjing on Friday.

As Fu Hua noted during the meeting, over the six years since its establishment, the committee has played an active role in deepening research on the Belt and Road Initiative and expanding its influence.

Xinhua will continue to work with all organizations participating in the committee to make proposals and put forward initiatives for the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as make new and even more significant contributions to promoting universal values and building a community with a shared future for humanity, the Director-General stated.

The International Committee for Cooperation between Think Tanks on the Belt and Road Initiative was established in April 2019 at the initiative of the Xinhua Institute and 15 other think tanks. –0–
