BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Thursday called for scientifically formulating a 2026 consultation plan based on an in-depth understanding of the guiding principles and major tasks of China's socio-economic development in the next five years.
Wang Huning, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), made the call at the 44th meeting of the chairman and vice chairmen of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
He called on CPPCC members to conduct in-depth studies on continuously advancing comprehensively deepening reform and expanding opening-up at a high level, and actively make proposals and support the effective implementation of major decisions and plans of the Party and the state.
Wang Huning also called on CPPCC members to make proposals on coordinating the development of mass sports and sports competitions and formulate a plan for CPPCC international exchanges in 2026. -0-
