Prague, November 20 (Xinhua) — Two trains collided Thursday morning near the town of Zliv in the southern Czech Republic, injuring 42 people, local media reported.

Five people were seriously injured and are being treated at a local hospital, Czech Television reported, citing rescue services.

The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. local time (05:15 GMT). All passengers were evacuated, the local fire and rescue service reported on social media.

One of the trains was an express train, and the other a commuter train. Both trains are operated by Czech Railways. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
