Beijing, November 20 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese Ministry of Education announced Thursday that approximately 12.7 million people will graduate from Chinese higher education institutions in 2026. This represents an increase of 480,000 graduates compared to 2025.

In light of the current situation, the department has agreed with local authorities and higher education institutions to conduct a special campaign in 2026 aimed at improving the quality and scale of employment for university graduates.

To promote high-quality and fulfilling employment for graduates, the campaign focuses on efforts such as supporting entrepreneurship to ensure employment, deepening the integration of industry and education to further balance supply and demand, and providing support to needy groups through targeted assistance, the Ministry of Education reported.

According to the ministry, since the start of the fall semester this year, universities across the country have collected and offered graduates more than 12 million job openings through a series of campus recruitment events. -0-
