Minsk, November 20 (Xinhua) — Festive events marking the 100th anniversary of Belarusian Radio took place in Minsk on Wednesday. Throughout the day, awards were presented to the country's top radio industry professionals who have made significant contributions to the industry's development. A gala meeting and awards ceremony for the winners of the first Belarusian National Competition "RadioTriumph" was also held in the evening at the Palace of the Republic.

As Vladimir Pertsov, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus, noted during a ceremony at the Palace of the Republic, radio remains one of the most popular media outlets. "No matter how fashionable digital platforms are, we still listen to the radio and love our hosts and programs," Belta quotes Pertsov as saying. He also added that Belarus has many reputable, professional, and diverse radio stations.

Belarusian Information Minister Marat Markov noted that, throughout the 100 years of Belarusian Radio's existence, there has been no national competition for radio industry workers. "In honor of the 100th anniversary of Belarusian Radio, we will hold the first-ever Belarusian National Competition, 'RadioTriumph.' The best in their field will be recognized," he said.

According to the regulations, the RadioTriumph competition will be held every two years. The first competition received 234 applications from 37 Belarusian radio stations, of which 225 were accepted to the competition program. The Grand Prix was awarded to the "Heroes of Victory" project from the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio.
