BEIJING, November 19 (Xinhua) — If Japan refuses to retract its erroneous remarks regarding Taiwan or continues to make mistake after mistake, China will be forced to take strict and decisive countermeasures, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday, noting that Japan will bear all the consequences.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous statements have fundamentally damaged the political foundation of China-Japan relations and provoked public outrage and condemnation from the Chinese people, the diplomat said at a regular press conference in response to a question on the matter.
China strongly demands that Japan retract its erroneous remarks, stop provoking incidents on China-related issues, take concrete actions to acknowledge its mistakes and correct shortcomings, and maintain the political foundation of China-Japan relations, she concluded. -0-
