China is the world's largest consumer of fruit. Fruit is one of the main food categories imported by China from the aforementioned countries, and Shanghai is the main entry point for fruit into the country.
To ensure smooth customs clearance of imported fruits, Shanghai Customs has taken a number of efficiency measures, such as opening a "green corridor" and allowing 24-hour pre-registration for customs clearance.
Recently, a shipment of coffee beans from Colombia was imported into China under the supervision of Shanghai Customs.
