Chongqing, November 19 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing called for accelerating the digital and intelligent upgrading and transformation of the manufacturing industry and consistently promoting the innovative development of state-owned enterprises.
During his inspection tour of Guizhou Province and Chongqing Municipality, both in southwest China, from November 16 to 19, Zhang Guoqing, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, said it is necessary to modernize and improve the quality of traditional industries, cultivate and strengthen emerging sectors, proactively formulate development plans for future industries, and develop new productive forces based on local conditions.
After visiting enterprises in sectors such as data services, chemicals, food, metallurgy, automotive, and communications equipment, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that advancing the digital and intelligent modernization and transformation of the manufacturing industry is an urgent need to strengthen the foundation of the real economy.
Zhang Guoqing emphasized the importance of promoting the deep integration of large-scale AI models with research, design, and production at enterprises. He called for increased efforts to promote research and development of domestic industrial software and its practical application, focusing on data accumulation and improving the compatibility of software with production equipment.
As the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out, state-owned enterprises must continually enhance their ability to innovate independently, cultivate new productive forces, and create new competitive advantages through the deep integration of scientific, technological, and industrial innovations.
Liu Guozhong added that it is necessary to improve institutional mechanisms for stimulating original innovation at state-owned enterprises, increase the share of investment in fundamental research, and achieve new breakthroughs in key, universal, and advanced technologies. –0–
