BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met on Tuesday with a delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) led by party co-chairman Lars Klingbeil, who is also Germany's Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister.
As Wang Huning noted, healthy and stable Sino-German relations meet the interests of both countries and the aspirations of all social circles in China and Europe.
China is willing to work with Germany to advance the China-Germany comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level and promote the development of relations between China and the European Union, Wang Huning said, adding that the CPPCC National Committee is willing to make a positive contribution to achieving this goal.
For his part, L. Klingbeil noted that China is an important partner for Germany, and both countries bear significant responsibility for the future of the world. He emphasized that Germany adheres to the one-China policy and is ready to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, promoting practical cooperation in various sectors.
