BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Finance on Monday issued a joint statement on the outcome of the 4th China-Germany High-Level Financial Dialogue, outlining 27 consensuses reached by the two sides.
During the dialogue, both sides confirmed that this dialogue mechanism is a key platform for bilateral exchange of views and policy coordination on strategic, comprehensive and long-term fiscal issues.
According to the joint statement, both sides pledged to support international and multilateral cooperation and oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism.
Both sides emphasized the importance of upholding the rules-based multilateral trading system, with the World Trade Organization at its core. They pledged to maintain close cooperation within the International Monetary Fund and strengthen bilateral coordination and comprehensive cooperation within the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
Both sides agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of the policy research cooperation mechanism established by the two countries' finance ministries. They are committed to intensifying exchanges on issues such as enhancing financial sustainability and will continue to strengthen international development cooperation. Furthermore, both sides are committed to promoting more vibrant, green, healthy, and inclusive global development.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in banking and insurance supervision, enhance collaboration between financial technology service providers from the two countries, and encourage financial institutions to invest and do business in each other's markets.
The mechanism of the above dialogue was launched in 2015, and the second and third rounds of the dialogue took place in 2019 and 2023, respectively. -0-
