BEIJING, November 18 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing on Tuesday with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abu Al-Gheit, who arrived in China to attend the China-Arab Dialogue of Civilizations.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, congratulated the Arab League on its 80th anniversary and praised the organization's commitment to strengthening the unity and self-sufficiency of Arab countries and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. He emphasized the unique and important role of the Arab League in regional and international affairs, wishing the organization continued and even greater progress in the future.
According to the Chinese diplomat, under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Arab leaders, China-Arab relations are rapidly developing and have entered their best period ever. He emphasized that China is the Arab countries' most reliable partner and firmly supports Arab states in eliminating external interference and pursuing a development path suited to their national conditions, enhancing their strategic autonomy to control their future, and strengthening unity and self-reliance to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
As Wang Yi emphasized, China never interferes in the internal affairs of other countries or engages in geopolitical rivalry. He emphasized that the goal of Chinese-Arab cooperation is to achieve common development and prosperity, as well as to promote the modernization of all countries.
The Chinese Foreign Minister noted that 2026 will mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Arab countries, and that the second China-Arab States Summit is scheduled to be held in China, marking another milestone in the history of China-Arab relations. China hopes to use this summit as an opportunity to strengthen strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and build a higher-level China-Arab community with a shared future, Wang Yi stated.
He stated that China highly values the Arab League's commitment to a just settlement of the Palestinian issue and always stands by the Arab countries. China, Wang Yi emphasized, will continue to uphold justice in the international arena, firmly support the restoration of Palestine's legitimate national rights, and unwaveringly promote the resumption and implementation of the Palestinian settlement process based on the "two-state solution" for two peoples.

Al-Gheit, for his part, noted that the Arab League attaches great importance to developing relations with China and supports the four global initiatives put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping. He stated that the Arab League intends to work with China to prepare for the second China-Arab States Summit next year and to open up broader horizons for the development of relations between Arab countries and China.
According to A.A. Al-Gheit, the Arab League highly appreciates China's commitment to fairness and justice in the Palestinian issue and hopes that China will continue to play a constructive role in this regard. He added that the Arab League welcomes China's commitment to multilateralism and intends to strengthen cooperation with China in multilateral fora to jointly promote peace and stability worldwide.
