BEIJING, November 18 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Tuesday refuted comments made by US Ambassador to Japan George Glass on social media platform X, calling them a purely political stunt.
Glass's statements regarding China are incompatible with the role and responsibilities of a diplomat, she said at a regular press conference.
The US-Japan alliance is a product of the Cold War and should not be directed against any third party, nor should it arbitrarily interfere in the internal affairs of other countries or harm their fundamental interests, the Chinese diplomat concluded. -0-
