Beijing, November 17 (Xinhua) — China expresses deep concern over the extreme and threatening remarks made in Japanese society against China recently, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a daily press briefing on Monday.
In response to a question regarding the Chinese government's recommendation to Chinese citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan for safety reasons, Mao Ning noted that many crimes against Chinese citizens have been committed in Japan for some time, and extreme and threatening statements against China have been made both by Japanese right-wingers and online.
"The Chinese side is deeply concerned about this. And the warnings from the relevant agencies are entirely justified," Mao Ning emphasized.
Responding to a question about the visit of Masaaki Kanai, Director of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Bureau of Asian and Oceanian Affairs, the spokesperson noted that China has already made strong representations and protests to Japan regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's inaccurate statements regarding Taiwan and will continue to do so. She added that China urges Japan to immediately acknowledge and correct its mistakes, disavow its inaccurate statements, and cease provocations on China-related issues.
