SHANGHAI, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) — China's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship (UDC) of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) Sichuan returned to the dock of a shipyard in Shanghai around 5 p.m. Sunday after completing its maiden sea trial.

During the three-day mission, a series of tests of the ship's power, electrical and other systems were conducted, which showed the expected results.

Subsequent test programs for the Sichuan ship will be gradually implemented according to the established schedule.

As a new generation amphibious assault ship of the PLA Navy, the Sichuan LCS is equipped with innovative electromagnetic catapult and arresting gear technologies, allowing it to carry fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and amphibious vehicles. -0-
